Our Annual Holiday Exhibition is a big blockbuster show that garners a lot of attention from the press, collectors and the public. Dacia Gallery invites emerging artists to submit artwork for an opportunity to participate in this Group Exhibition at Dacia Gallery for the Holidays. We are actively searching for new talented artists in all media and styles of works on paper, to exhibit and represent. The 2018 Screenprint Biennial seeks to showcase a range of screenprint-based art applications, from framed editioned prints to installation, sculpture, video, ephemera, and posters. This exhibition will in no way seek to act as a survey or “who’s-who” of screenprinting, but will assemble an exhibition that is consistent in highlighting artists who utilize adventurous, relevant, and passionate takes on the screenprinted medium. The Screenprint Biennial is announcing its open call for submissions. Submissions involving video, performance, sculpture, social practice, alternative substrates and processes, and collaboration are encouraged.

The exhibition is scheduled to premiere at the Opalka Gallery in Albany, NY. Located at the Sage Colleges, the Opalka Gallery’s primary focus is on modern and contemporary art and design from nationally recognized artists.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All entries must be submitted via email. Artists may submit up to three JPEG images or one video.

File Size requirements:
- JPEGs must be 72 ppi, max size 1MB per individual image.
- Minimum 600 pixels, maximum1200 pixels in either direction.
- Time-based work can be submitted via a Youtube or Vimeo link. If the link is password protected, the password MUST be included in your work list.
- IMAGE LABELING: JPEG images MUST BE labeled as follows: "LAST Name_FIRST Name_Image number"
(Image numbers correspond with that work’s placement on the Work List.) Ex: "smith_jane_1.jpg" "smith_jane_2.jpg" etc.

NUMBERED WORK LIST:
Include a Word document with: artist’s name, address, email, phone number, and slide information (title, size, process, sale price, date completed). If work is for sale, please list the framed sale price, taking into account commission for work sold. In the case of unconventional projects, please include your proposal as part of the work list Word document.

ACCEPTANCE:
Artists will be informed via email regarding their acceptance into the show Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the entered image. Absolutely NO substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

PRESENTATION:
Accepted artwork must be suitable for formal gallery presentation as well as the rigors of packaged shipping. Special display instructions must be explicitly stated and included in shipping. 2-D works on paper must be framed, wired, and ready to hang. A limited amount of video projection equipment will be available. Any sculptural or installation-based work must have clear instructions and guidelines.

High-Resolution Images:
Accepted artists must provide high-res images of selected work for purposes of publishing an exhibition catalog. Images should be 300ppi, approximately 5”x5”, in TIFF format. Images will be sent via a free file transfer service like WeTransfer. By submitting images for the catalog, you are giving permission for their use in any promotion for the exhibition. Accepted artists will receive a free copy of the exhibition catalog.

Shipping: Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the Screenprint Biennial.

Shipped work must arrive in a reusable container or crate. No mailing tubes. A computer-generated return label for return of work MUST be enclosed. NO EXCEPTIONS. Call for Submissions: Sixty Square Inches - 19th Annual

Purdue Galleries is calling for entries for Sixty Square Inches XIX, an exhibition of small-scale printmaking.

For over 30 years, Purdue University Galleries has been committed to providing a showcase for the best of small-scale contemporary printmaking. Dates for this exhibition are Tuesday, January 16 through Friday, February 16, 2018 at Fountain Gallery (330 Main St., Lafayette, IN 47901).

ELIGIBILITY: Open to artists over the age of 18 residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Entries must be original fine art prints in any medium. Image size may not exceed 60 square inches (height x width). For three-dimensional prints, the multiple of the two largest dimensions may not exceed 60 square inches. Current faculty, staff, and students at Purdue University are ineligible. Artists may submit up to three (3) images of original works completed in the last three years (2015 - 2017).

Jurors will be Monika Meler, associate professor of art and graphic design, University of the Pacific-Stockton, CA, with Liz Erlewine, interim director for Purdue University Galleries.

MANIFEST presents IMPRINT, an open international call to artists to submit works of printmaking. Manifest will strive to explore the range of methods and results currently being achieved within the bounds of such processes. This exhibit has no predefined expectation for type, or theme to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to most experimental. Works must feature printmaking as their primary media.

Like photography, printmaking is a genre of creative work that is underscored by its processes. Some artists are steadfast traditionalists, anchoring themselves in age-old technical methods. Others push the boundaries of the discipline, exploring just what constitutes ‘printmaking’. For this exhibit Manifest takes a fresh look at the media last featured in season 10. IMPRINT calls to artists to submit works of printmaking, and will strive to explore the range of methods and results currently being achieved within the bounds of such processes.

ELIGIBILITY
IMPRINT is open to everyone. Professionals as well as students are encouraged to enter. The only limitation is that entries must represent original works which feature printmaking as their primary media.

Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional approaches to printmaking.

Manifest's carefully assembled juries change from project to project, and have no collective predisposition towards any particular kind or style of art.

ANNUAL CASH AWARD
A new annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize will result in the awarding of one significant cash prize ($2500) to a single work selected as the 'best of the entire season'. Winner will be determined by a final end-of-year jury from among a pool of all top-scoring works from each exhibit's jury process across the current exhibition season. This process will apply to exhibits from the start of our 14th season on September 29, 2017, and applies to each exhibit through August, 2018, including this one. New Prints 2018/Winter will be the 57th presentation of IPCNY's New Prints Program. Established in 2000, the New Prints Program is a twice-annual, juried open call for prints and print-based work created in the preceding twelve months, in keeping with IPCNY's mission of supporting print artists and broadening access to the medium. The jury will be announced in the coming weeks.

CRITERIA

-Editioned prints, unique printed works, printed installations, artist’s books, and ephemeral formats are eligible. Photography or direct reproductions of other artworks, such as drawings or paintings, are not eligible.
-Selections will represent a broad array of processes and formats, as well as broad geographical and generational reach.
-Prints must have been completed within a year prior to the submission deadline.
-Up to 3 images may be submitted.

THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE. Self-published artists, workshops, publishers, and galleries are welcome to submit print projects completed within the past twelve months. Please refer to the image requirements below. Selected artists will be notified by email. If you have not received word by the beginning of December, please check our website or Facebook for a list of artists.

Selected artists or their workshops/publishers will be responsible for the framing and delivery of work to IPCNY by Thursday, December 21, 2017. IPCNY will cover the return cost of delivery within reason (up to $100).

Artists selected for the exhibition will also be invited to apply for IPCNY's recently launched New Prints Artist Development Initiative. The initiative includes three opportunities to receive further training, guidance, and exposure for their printmaking practice: an artist residency program, artist mentorship program, and sponsored coursework. The Embassies of Latin American countries, Spain and Portugal, in collaboration with Itaú Unibanco and supported by People’s Palace Projects (Queen Mary University of London), are delighted to launch the 2017 edition of the VIA Arts Prize.

In an unparalleled exchange between the UK and Latin cultures, this dedicated visual arts competition invites all UK-based artists to enter into a creative dialogue with Ibero-American art and artists. Following the pre-selection process conducted by the curatorial committee, up to 30 artworks will then go on display for three weeks at the Embassy of Brazil. A special jury will judge the final selection.

Please find full information at the contest website. Submissions for the competition, which may include paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and prints, are now invited from artists living and working in the UK. Participants must be aged 16 or over.

We encourage you to participate in this contest and there are several ways in which you can get involved:

Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York (Brooklyn, NY) presents an opportunity for artists to participate in the fifth year of our annual Flat File Program. The 2017-2018 program will run for one full year, from December 2017 through November 2018. The program will kick off with an event in our gallery in December 2017 comprised of works selected from the new season’s flat file.

Individual works from the Flat File Program will be selectively highlighted throughout the year in the gallery, on our website, through social media (Facebook/Instagram) as well as shared as part of our press releases with our mailing list; the Flat File will also be accessible to gallery visitors for browsing. Works included in the Flat File Program will be available for purchase throughout the year on our website. The Flat File will be on view during the heavily trafficked 2018 Bushwick Open Studios weekend, concurrently with our regularly scheduled exhibition.

Submission Details:

Open to professional working artists only. Currently enrolled student are not eligible to apply.
Artists who currently have work in our Flat File are not eligible to apply this year.
All work for consideration must be unframed and unmounted.
Dimensions should be no larger than 16 x 20 inches, with a maximum thickness of ¼ inch or less.
Submission fee is $20, non-refundable and for up to four jpegs.
Maximum retail price of each work submitted should be less than $1,000.
All submissions must be in by 11:59pm EDT on July 31, 2017 for consideration.
Selected Artists will be notified in early Fall of 2017.
Specific works submitted to the open call must be available for the Flat File. If an accepted work is not available for any reason it may not be switched with replacement.
Each image should be no larger than 1000 pixels at the largest dimension.

Q: Can foreign artists apply?
A: Yes, foreign artists are welcome to apply as long as they can ship their work to New York.

Q: Can I submit multiple images to document one artwork?
A: Yes, but a maximum of four JPGs may be submitted total.

Q: Can I switch out works in the TSA flatfile.
A: No, if included your work is committed to be in the flat file for the duration of the program.

Q: What is the consignment percentage breakdown between TSA NY and the artist?
A: The artist receives 70% of the sale price, TSA receives 30%.

Q: What if I found a buyer for my work while it’s in the Flat File?
A: For the duration of the year your work is in the Flat File TSA and the artist will split sales according to the consignment agreement

Q: Must the work be on paper?
A: No, but it must be no more than ¼“ thick.

Q: What if my artwork is comprised of multiple parts?
A: That is fine as long as the entire work is 16x20” or smaller.

Q: If accepted what should I do to prepare my work for presentation?
A: Nothing, please sent us only the work, do not frame or mount the work.

Juror
Judith Brodie, Curator of Modern Prints and Drawings at the National Gallery of Art, has organized and collaborated on many exhibitions, including A Century of Drawing: Works on Paper from Degas to LeWitt, Shock of the News, and Yes, No, Maybe: Artists Working at Crown Point Press. Prior to coming to the Gallery, Brodie worked at the National Museum of American Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She was a visiting artist at Birgit Skiöld’s Print Workshop in London, and taught printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design before becoming a curator.

SMALL FORMAT is an International Mini Print exhibition organised by Black Church Print Studio promoting the diversity and creative processes of printmaking. This is a new addition to Black Church Print Studio’s program. This invitation is open to professional artists nationally and internationally. Images made using all printmaking techniques from traditional techniques such as lithography, relief, screen, etching to contemporary digital processes will be accepted. All works should measure 30cm × 30cm. SMALL FORMAT will be exhibited in the prime location of The Library Project in Temple Bar in Sept 2017. Deadline for entry is 5pm Friday, August 4, 2017. This is an open call to artists for an exhibition of prints at Site:Brooklyn.

This exhibition will reflect the ambitious, innovative and contemporary in printmaking today. Highlighting traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraphy, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element.

ABOUT THE JUROR:

We are fortunate to have the highly respected Marina Ancona as the juror. Master Printer Marina Ancona founded 10 Grand Press, an independent print shop that specializes in fine art printing processes and techniques located in Brooklyn, New York and an additional location Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Marina Ancona’s publishing and collaborative projects have been exhibited internationally, including the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Leo Koenig Gallery, Art in General, and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Institute of Contemporary Art. She has conducted lectures and workshops at Bard College, Sarah Lawrence College, SUNY Purchase, and Pratt Institute, Park Avenue Armory Print Fair, among other institutions. Ancona has collaborated with a range of artists, such as Nicole Eisenman, Jose Maria Sicilia, Jeff Gibson, Karen Heagle, Nicola Lopez, Carrie Moyer, Emily Roysdon, Angela Dufresne, and Harmony Hammond and more.

Before opening 10 Grand Press, Marina Ancona worked in print shops in Santa Fe, Paris, and New York. She has studied at the Boston Museum School and taken master classes with Helen Frankenthaler, Ken Noland, and Susan Rothenberg at the Santa Fe Institute of Fine Arts.

2. All work must be suitably framed to a professional standard. No clip frames, saw-tooth hangers or taped edges. All framed conventional work must use Plexiglas, except hand-delivered work less than 24” x 30”. Canvases may have neat gallery wrapped edges.

3. Work must be wired and ready for hanging. A label must be affixed to the back of the work that indicates which end is the top and includes the following: Artist Name, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. This information must correspond with the Accepted image as listed on Notification form. No artwork may be substituted.

4. All artwork must be priced for sale.

5. Work cannot be withdrawn, nor sales shipped, before the end of the exhibit.
