Remote Senior Research Cataloguer, 18th-century French Prints

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is looking to fill a remote position for a senior cataloguer with expertise in 18th-century French prints. This is a part-time contractor role. We are seeking a candidate to work approx. 20 hours a week from January 2022 through the end of March 2023. The cataloguer's attention will be focused on our Decloux architecture and ornament print collection. Most of these bound pattern-book prints were produced in 18th-century France, although the collection does include some earlier works as well as prints made elsewhere in Europe. We are hoping to identify a candidate with excellent French, specific knowledge of the field, and experience using a collections database such as The Museum System (TMS). The contractor will be joining another senior cataloguer who initiated work on the project in September 2021 and who has made excellent headway in establishing data standards tailored to the collection.
