Printmaking Quarterly Adjunct Lecturer (Pool)

The Department of Art and Art History at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic University offering undergraduate degrees in studio art and art history, seeks applicants to teach occasional courses in printmaking as an adjunct lecturer (non-tenure track) during our 2017-2018 academic year.

Salary: $6,600 per course

Basic Qualifications:
M.F.A. or terminal degree in related field M.F.A. required and successful college-level teaching experience in studio art. Successful past teaching experience in printmaking at the college level preferred. Commitment to teaching studio art within a liberal arts context desired.

Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Teaching no more than two courses per term and no more than four over the course of the 3 quarters in a manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively. Possible course assignments include beginning or intermediate printmaking.
2. Conducting all assigned class meetings for the entire quarter and exams in a timely and prepared way. Final exams/critiques must be held during exam week (week eleven)
3. Assigning and evaluating assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students
4. Holding weekly office hours on campus (1-3 hrs/wk)
5. Assigning and submitting student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline.
6. Administering numerical and narrative course evaluations to each class as assigned by the chair.
7. Fulfilling other instructional or academic duties, such as attending faculty meetings or department special events, as may be assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences or the Chair of the Department of Art and Art History

Additional Information:
Position is open until filled.
