PrintAustin’s 4th Annual Juried National Exhibition “The Contemporary Print”
PrintAustin invites you to enter our 4th annual juried national exhibition “ The Contemporary Print” to be held at O2 Gallery at Flatbed Press Headquarters during PrintAustin 2017.
The Contemporary Print exhibition will be a survey of the traditions and the innovations of contemporary printmaking happening today. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique including: Lithography, Relief, Intaglio, Silkscreen, and Monotype.

JUROR: We are elated to announce our 2017 juror Susan Tallman. Susan Tallman is an art historian who has written extensively on the history and culture of the print, as well as on issues authenticity, reproduction and multiplicity. She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal and website Art in Print, and her writing has appeared in Art in America, Parkett, Public Art Review, Art on Paper, Print Quarterly, Arts Magazine and many other publications. Her books include The Contemporary Print: from Pre-Pop to Postmodern (Thames and Hudson),The Collections of Barbara Bloom (Steidl), and numerous museum catalogues. She has lived and worked in New York, Amsterdam and Berlin, and currently teaches in the Departments of Printmedia and Art History, Theory and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the United States. Any 2-D or 3-D work including ceramics, sculpture, mixed media and artists’ books that uses printmaking as the sole or major technique in its execution is eligible. Work cannot exceed 72 inches in any direction. No traditional or digital photography will be accepted.
*** Works that have been exhibited in past The Contemporary Print exhibitions are not eligible to be considered for this year’s entry. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide a fresh and current survey of printmaking today.
CASH AWARDS
1st Prize: $400 2nd Prize: $300 3rd Prize: $200
FEES: $35 for up to 3 entries; $10 for each additional entry (maximum of 10 entries total). Payment via credit card using PayPal is preferred. You may also pay using check or payable to PrintAustin mailed to 916 Springdale Road, Bldg. 1, Suite 218, Austin Texas 78702. Payment must be received by entry deadline of October 1.
ENTRY GUIDELINES: All entries must be submitted through CallForEntry.org. Online System. No email or paper submissions will be accepted.
File format: JPEG only. (3-D work may be presented in multiple views, counting as one image.)
File dimensions: No smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side.
File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
File size: 5 MB maximum
Label files in the following manner: JohnSmith1.jpg, JohnSmith2.jpg, JohnSmith3.jpg, etc.
Images must be uploaded by 11:59 PM, October 1, 2016.
NOTIFICATIONS: Email notifications will be sent to all entrants by November 15, 2016.
