Wendy Joan Shadwell died on October 23, 2007. She was a long-time curator at the New-York Historical Society, the author of many scholarly articles, and a past president of the AHPCS. She left a substantial bequest to the American Historical Print Collectors Society to promote interest in American historical prints. An area of special concern to Shadwell was the “Preservation of Early American Prints,” and the board of the AHPCS established the Wendy Shadwell Print Conservation Grant Program to further that aim.

Proposals for the Shadwell Conservation Grants are reviewed twice a year and are due March 31 and September 30, 2017. Awards will be announced following the board meetings of the AHPCS in May and November. For more information about the grants please contact Roger Genser, Chairperson, Shadwell Print Conservation Subcommittee, PO Box 5133, Santa Monica, CA 90409, or email to: genserprints@verizon.net or refer to the AHPCS website via the 'External Link' below.
