PaperWorks 2018: The Inventive Eye

U.S. National Deadline: May 20, 2018 – Upstream Gallery invites artists to submit work interpreting the theme ‘Inventive Eye: Observation, Transformation, & the Art of Seeing’, for a juried exhibit of works on paper to be held at Upstream Gallery, Hastings on Hudson, NY, June 21st – July 29th, 2018.

ELIGIBLE WORK
Artists are invited to submit images of work on paper including collage, drawing, painting, printmaking, etc. All work should be originally created on paper. Photography submissions will be declined. We have a separate annual juried photography exhibition in February.

SPECIFICATIONS
Two dimensional pieces must be suitably framed. Maximum framed size may not exceed 20 x 24 inches. Accepted pieces must be wired for hanging. The gallery reserves the right to reject poorly presented pieces

JUROR
James Lancel McElhinney, is a visual artist, author, oral historian, and publisher. He is the recipient of a Pollock Krasner 2017 artist-grant. McElhinney attended Tyler School of Art (BFA Painting), Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and Yale University (MFA Painting). ENTRY FEE
Entry Fee: $30 for one entry, $45 for two entries, $50 for three and $55 for four entries (maximum). The juror may select one, several, all, or none of your submissions.

SALES
All pieces must be for sale. The gallery will retain a 30% commission on all sales.

June 24th Opening reception – 2 to 5 pm
July 29th Last day of exhibition
