Research/Current Projects India Rael Young nears completion of her doctorate in art history as a Mellon Dissertation Fellow at the University of New Mexico while working concurrently as an independent curator. Ms. Young’s work stresses artistic agency as a tool for translations of cultural understanding. Her primary research focuses on prints and the conceptual transfer of idea to image, while her curatorial mandate privileges intersectional viewpoints within mainstream art institutions. Young's dissertation provides the first comprehensive art history of Northwest Coast Indigenous prints.
