Luc-Olivier Merson. Illustrateur et décorateur
The exhibition presents 54 works from the collection of the Musée d'arts de Nantes. Luc-Olivier Merson (1846-1920) was a strange and brilliant personality. Inspired by the Antiquity and by the Italian painters of the Renaissance, he created a dreamy world. He notably illustrated the novel "Notre Dame de Paris" by Victor Hugo and "Les Trophées de José-Maria" by Hérédia. He was a fantastic engraver and painter.
