The "Diaspora" Venetian artists and artistic exchanges in Europe in the eighteenth century

The Dazzling Exhibition Venice. Venice, arts and Europe in the eighteenth century (Galeries nationales du Grand Palais, September 26, 2018 - January 21, 2019) offers a tour of Venetian civilization of the eighteenth century through a selection of paintings, sculptures, works of art, costumes and musical instruments.

On this occasion the Louvre Auditorium organizes a symposium in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Association of Historians of Italian Art (AIHA), which will focus on the diaspora of Venetian artists and artistic exchanges in Europe in the eighteenth century. This radiation Venice beyond its borders is a singularity and is explained by various economic, diplomatic and political factors beyond the genius artists that attracts the most powerful patrons. The conference aims to deepen some of the most complex aspects and richest of this phenomenon.
