INK, PRESS, REPEAT: NATIONAL JURIED PRINTMAKING AND BOOK ART EXHIBITION

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Since 2001, the University Galleries at William Paterson University has organized an annual juried printmaking exhibition featuring traditional and digital print media and book art. One artist will be selected to have a future solo exhibition at the University Galleries.


ABOUT THE JUROR

Alexander Campos is the Executive Director & Curator of The Center for Book Arts in New York City, and has over 25 years of experience in the museum world. He has worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Bronx Museum of the Arts. At the Center for Book Arts, he has organized over two dozen contemporary arts exhibitions including Protest ≠ Profest: Global Concerns, The Un(FRAMED) Photograph, Racism: An American Family Value, Then & Now: 10 Years of Residency Programs at The Center for Books Arts, and Multiple Limited Unique: Selections from Permanent Collections of The Center for Book Arts, and, more recently Ornate/Activate for the South Asian Women's Collaborative Collective. He has also worked with 60 artists, including Buzz Spector, Chantal Zakari, Brian Taylor, Zahra Partovi, and Collette Fu, to produce solo project based installations and exhibitions, several of which merge photography and book arts. He holds an M.A. in Arts Administration/Museum Management from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education and a B.A. in the History of Art and Romance Languages from University of Pennsylvania.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all artists residing in the United States. Works must have been completed within the past two years and may not exceed 60 inches. Work previously shown at the William Paterson University Galleries will not be accepted.


ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

All accepted work requires proper framing and should be ready to be hung (except for book art which will be displayed in vitrines on pedestals). The Juror reserves the right to reject any work found to be unacceptable upon arrival.


SALES

The University retains a 20% commission for all artwork sales.


LIABILITY

All work shown at the gallery will be insured for the duration of the exhibition. The gallery cannot insure works in transit.


SHIPPING REQUIREMENTS

The cost of shipping or hand-delivering works to and from the gallery is the responsibility of the artist.


SUBMISSION PROCESS

Register to submit your artwork (up to 3 submissions)
Fill out the required information for each artwork and upload up to 2 images per work. (You will have the option to include a brief artist statement with each submission. Please do not include your name with this statement as this will affect the blind jurying process.)
