Call for Art – Printmaking

The Alaska Wilderness League invites you to participate in Ink for Alaska a juried printmaking exhibit that showcases the Art of the Print with work inspired by Alaska and/or our northern wilderness. Any printmaking process is permissible.

Alaska Wilderness League’s mission is to lead the effort to preserve Alaska’s wild lands and waters by engaging citizens and decision makers with a courageous, constant, victorious voice for Alaska. http://www.alaskawild.org/

Prizes: $500 McClain’s Printmaking Supplies gift certificate
$500 Speedball (Akua Inks and more) gift certificate
$300 Graphic Chemical and Ink gift certificate
1st Place winner will be chosen for the Alaska Wilderness League 2016 Holiday Card

Size: 11x14” printmaking paper
Submit JPG images, no longer than 1200px on the longest side to Ink for Alaska.
Please fill out the submission form to send with your entry, payment by paypal.
Submission Date: closing Sept 15, 2016
Final selection: October 15, 2016

Jurors:
Susan Rostow – artist and printmaker, inventor of Akua Inks, NY
Ron Pokrasso – Printmaker and educator, Santa Fe, NM
Chris Kent – Artist and Printmaker, California
Barbara Mason – Printmaker and educator, Hillsboro, OR

Entry Fee: $25 for up to 3 entries. In thanks for your participation, you will receive a book produced by Alaska Wilderness League entitled “We are the Arctic” featuring photographs of some of the best photographers in the USA. The retail cost of this book is $15 and will be mailed to all participants in the USA and Territories at no additional cost.

Prints submitted by the 20 finalists will be chosen for a traveling exhibit with catalog, promoting the work of the Alaska Wilderness League. The first stop will be the Anchorage with other itineraries throughout 2017.
