Graduate Assistantships in Printmaking, Indiana University

Indiana University, Bloomington (IU) has two full graduate assistantships available for Fall 2019/2020 in our highly ranked three-year MFA program. The assistantships entail a tuition waiver, a stipend for duties assigned within the area of approximately $15,750, paid over a 10-month period (August – May), studio space, and excellent medical insurance. The full graduate assistantship requires twenty hours of work per week in the Printmaking area.

The IU Bloomington MFA Printmaking program is open-ended in that we do not have a preconceived agenda for admitting nor teaching students. Students are encouraged to explore other fine arts media as well as make full use of our world-class research university environment as it impacts upon their work.

Our print studios offer contiguous space for students to work in silkscreen, lithography, intaglio, relief, digital and a variety of trans-disciplinary media. The facility also hosts a comprehensive print archive with over 2500 prints to source from. Works can be explored through our online data base and then pulled for hands on study. As well, the program features a summer program in Venice, Italy focused on intaglio and artist books. Semi-private studios are provided to our graduate students.
