Faculty Tenure Track [9 Mo] – Printmaking
Opportunity for an Assistant Professor in Printmaking/Print Media, School of Art, Kent State University.
Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Teach courses in lithography, etching, relief and/or screen printing at the introductory, advanced and graduate levels, including digital, photo-mechanical, and/or post-digital subjects; mentor and supervise graduate students and teaching assistants in the area of printmaking; contribute to leadership and direction for the area; maintain an active program of creative / scholarly activity as an artist; perform appropriate university, community, and professional service.
Minimum Qualifications:
MFA degree in Printmaking/Print Media at time of application with preferred collegiate-level teaching experience beyond graduate assistantships, preferably at both undergraduate and graduate levels; experience managing a print shop and preferred experience supervising graduate instructors; demonstrated commitment to teaching and the ability to clearly articulate knowledge of contemporary printmaking practices in the visual arts; knowledge and skill in applying traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques and methodologies as a vehicle for creative inquiry; experience with digital printmaking applications and less toxic processes/materials; demonstrated commitment to creative research with a significant exhibition record in quality, selective venues and an ongoing agenda of creative activity that promises continued professional achievement; ability to communicate effectively and serve as a mentor for graduate and undergraduate students in print media and photography. Preference will be given to applicants with skills in traditional printmaking as well as photo-mechanical print processes, artist's books, and post-digital printmaking (a hybrid of traditional print with digital fabrication skills).

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
