Curatorial Assistant, Manton Study Center for Works on Paper
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute seeks a full-time Curatorial Assistant to coordinate the activities of the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper. The position will be for one year, with a second year renewable. Responsible for performing a variety of duties and project assignments primarily related to curatorial functions in the Manton Works on Paper Study Center and as assigned by curatorial staff.
The Study Room Assistant reports to the Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs and performs a variety of essential functions. These include coordinating public access to the Manton Study Center; researching the permanent collection and potential acquisitions; participating in the development of publications, exhibitions, and public programs; and assisting the day-to-day operations of the study room.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and organized individual with an MA in art history, effective communication skills, and a reading knowledge of French, Italian, and/or German. Knowledge of the materials and techniques of prints, drawings, and photographs is highly beneficial.
