Collection Assistant, “Kupferstichkabinett Online” Project

The Herzog August Library is an internationally oriented research and study center for European cultural history of the Middle Ages and the early modern period. As part funded by the state of Lower Saxony project "Kupferstichkabinett_online" for up to 10 months to be filled as soon as possible. The monthly working time is 60 hours. The payment is based on the basis of the hourly rate for research assistants i. H. v. currently 15,68 €. The office is located in the department of manuscripts and special collections.

The main task is to cooperate in the digital development project for Printmaking "Kupferstichkabinett online": Digital reproduction of 8,000 prints the graphic collection of the HAB. The staff refers to the activities related to the cataloging of leaves as the database-supported acquisition of technical, iconographic and historical collection features using standard vocabulary for the online publication of the stocks.

Requirements:
- completed studies humanities (Master or equivalent) in art history or art theory
- Knowledge of the history of printmaking and the iconography
- ability to recognize printing techniques
- Basic knowledge in Electronic Data Processing
- Ability to careful and systematic work
- Willingness to flexible labor and teamwork
- foreign language skills (preferably Latin)
