Provide day-to-day support to the Prints & Multiples Department in London, supporting the Sale Coordinator with the organisation of the sales and providing general administrative support to the department.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks: (Duties include but are not limited to the following)
· Support the Sale Coordinator and the team in the day-to-day running of the Department
· Ensure all telephone calls are answered and messages passed on
· Maintain stationery supplies in the Department
· Responsible for collecting and distributing post daily, arranging couriers, sending out catalogues
· Liaise with IT to resolve any issues with office equipment, maintain printers
· Assist Specialists and Sale Coordinator with emails and letters to clients and travel arrangements
· Assist the Sale Coordinator with tracking incoming works for sale, and gathering consignment paperwork
· Support the Sale Coordinator with the Stock Clearance project by creating a tracking system and liaising with Art Transport to organise return shipments
· Assist with the organisation of hand-carries and restoration transfers, where appropriate
· Respond to image and factsheet requests, assist specialist team with client requests during sale week
· Support Business Intelligence Analyst with gathering competitor results for market share

The Ryerson & Burnham Libraries constitute a major art and architecture research collection serving The Art Institute of Chicago and scholars in the fields of art and architectural history with more than 500,000 print titles and 100,000 auction catalogs. All periods and media are covered, but special emphasis is placed on architecture of the 18th through 20th centuries and 19th century painting, prints, drawings, and decorative arts. Special collections of the Libraries include over 10,000 items.


Position Summary

The Special Collections Intern will complete a collection assessment project by learning to survey materials in the Libraries’ special collections and highlighting items of particular importance due to art historical significance, rarity, value, provenance, etc. Interns will gain experience reviewing and researching titles, compared to other institutions’ catalogues and collections, and making brief written recommendations for selections.


Qualifications

Current student or recent graduate of a Library and Information Science program, with some art history knowledge. Familiarity with issues of special collections is a plus. Interns will need to take direction and to work independently and should have good writing skills.

Manhattan Graphics Center’s PR/Administrative Internship Program offers opportunities to take classes, meet printmakers and instructors, and get involved in the New York art community. This internship program is designed to be an educational experience in public relations and the daily operations of a non-profit fine art studio.


Fall Term: September 5 - December 22

- All Internships are for 1 term and can last 8 - 13 weeks.

Skills Needed

MGC is looking for someone with an outgoing personality who can help grow awareness and excitement for the programs we offer. Experience in printmaking is preferred. Interns will need to have a working knowledge of Photoshop, google drive, social media (Instagram/twitter), video editing (basic), and basic camera skills. A good sense of direction and knowledge of the New York City subway system is a plus.

Interns will work directly with the program manager on several projects throughout the term. The program manager will work one-on-one with interns to help them hone their skills, as mentioned above, and mentor them throughout the program.

Erica has worked in Intaglio, Screenprinting, Lithography, Woodcut, Relief, Monotype, and other experimental processes. She has worked at MGC since 2015 as the Program Manager where she handles the MGC schedule including; classes, grant programs, artist talks, and other on-site activities. She also promotes the center, manages fundraisers and international exhibitions, as well as the daily operations.

The Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) at Oberlin College seeks applications for the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Foundation Curatorial Internship. Funded by the IFPDA Foundation, this 8-week summer internship will allow the selected applicant to participate in a variety of aspects related to the care, display, and research of the AMAM’s significant print collection. This internship offers the opportunity to work closely and intensively with the museum’s collection and staff, and to contribute meaningfully to a variety of print-related projects. Working primarily with the Curator of European and American art, the intern will gain hands-on experience and professional training fundamental for a museum career in the field of prints through work on exhibitions and permanent collection maintenance and research.

Responsibilities
The intern will be expected to take an active, hands-on role in the museum’s planning for exhibitions and collection research. The intern will work independently with prints in the AMAM’s collection and therefore will be trained in the proper handling, housing, and care of prints, if needed, and in the AMAM’s policies and procedures. The intern will learn how to the use the AMAM’s collections management database (TMS) and work in conjunction with the supervising curator, making assessments of the prints’ techniques, condition, and suitability for specific exhibition displays. The intern will also collaborate on a rotation of modern and contemporary prints scheduled for installation over the summer, and assist in the planning for a loan exhibition of Rembrandt etchings.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in art history and has experience working in a museum or gallery, but recent graduates with a BA in art history and significant research or curatorial experience in a museum or gallery setting would also be considered.
Excellent writing skills and strong research and organizational skills are necessary. The candidate’s field of interest can be open, but the applicant must be proficient in at least one European language and have a proven interest in prints and printmaking.
It is highly recommended that the candidate can drive, as public transportation options in the vicinity of Oberlin are limited.

Compensation
The intern will receive $3000 paid in equal installments through the duration of the internship.

Internship Description:

The Studio Assistant Intern(s) will work with the Artistic Director/Master Printer, Assistant Printer, and Studio Manager to prepare and execute projects in all areas of operation.

Intern Requirements:

Interns must be able to commit to an average of 11 weeks for a minimum of 15 scheduled hours per week. The best intern is not always the person with the most printmaking experience! Printmaking experience is helpful, but dependability, initiative, attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability/willingness to learn are paramount. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills, interest in printmaking practices, and the ability to work well with others are also important. Preference is given to graduate students, upper level undergraduates (junior or senior) and those wishing to work consecutive terms. (Students in their last quarter or semester should seriously consider whether their schedule will reasonably accommodate an internship requiring at least 15 hours per week.)

Internship duration: One semester minimum (11 weeks).

The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a part-time, temporary summer intern to work in the Prints department.

POSITION SUMMARY

This internship will assist the Curator of Prints to research and catalogue the Joel and Bernice Weisman Collection of 800 Japanese prints into the permanent collection. This will be a hands - on experience with Japanese prints dating from the 1760s through the twentieth century. A reading knowledge of Japanese and a general background in Japanese print history, history and literature is desirable.

Schedule: 12 weeks, 6/1/2017 - 8/31/2017, 35 hours per week, paid position.

IPCNY (International Print Center New York) internships provide junior-year college level or

an exciting time of growth in its life with a new director, and new exhibitions, educational

responsibilities evolve with the institution's needs. All interns assist with general administrative
duties.

Graduate students enrolled in art history, arts administration, museum studies, and fine arts
programs preferred; prior gallery, museum, or studio experience not required but a plus. Qualified

IFPDA Foundation Curatorial Internship in Prints – Summer 2016

The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Va., has been awarded a grant from the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Foundation to fund a curatorial internship for the summer of 2016. The intern will assist the Museum’s curatorial team in studying, cataloguing, and exhibiting works from its collection of American and European fine art prints. This is an exciting opportunity for a student to gain professional training and hands-on experience, in preparation for a future art museum career.

Internship Overview:

Under the supervision of the Curator of American Art, the intern will conduct independent research to catalogue works from the Museum’s collection of works on paper and design a thematic rotation of prints for gallery display. Additionally, the intern will work with conservators to assess object condition and potential needs for improved housing. The intern will also learn to use the Museum’s collections management database (TMS), build object files, and suggest updates to the online collections catalogue.

The internship requires a minimum commitment of 3 days/week [or 18 hours/week] for an 8-week period between June and August 2016. The intern will receive a stipend of $2,500.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Art History graduate student, advanced undergraduate, or recent graduate from an accredited four-year college or university. Applicants in Studio Art, American Studies, Museum Studies, or Library Science with demonstrated interest in the history of printmaking and in museums are also eligible.
• Record of coursework in 19th and 20th century American and European art.
• Strong skills in research, organization, and writing/editing (including Microsoft Office proficiency).
• Reading knowledge in French, German, or Italian preferred.
• Past experience in cataloguing, inventory procedures, or database entry will be a plus.
