Tamarind became interested in SCUBA during their Ice Shelf tour, in which they drove a solar-powered and biodiesel-capable mobile gallery across the country. More recently SCUBA contributed to the epic playground installation known as Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, the work of an artist collective that grew to 135 artists. Works by SCUBA have been exhibited worldwide, and in Santa Fe at institutions such as James Kelly Contemporary, Center for Contemporary Arts, and SITE Santa Fe.
Tamarind will release new editions by SCUBA, a series of prints incorporating hand-colored collage elements. The new prints forge a traditional medium with their uniquely playful approach, bringing another layer of complexity to the already multifaceted collaborative. SCUBA will talk about these new works from 5 to 5:30 at Tamarind on July 16.
