Assistant Keeper, Paintings, Drawings, and Prints
The role holder reports to and works together with the Keeper of Paintings, Drawings and Prints & Interim Keeper, Manuscripts and Printed Books, Fitzwilliam Museum, to ensure to the day-to-day running of the Department. They will contribute to the overall care of, and public access to, the departmental collections through display and interpretation, teaching, and public engagement.
The role holder will collaborate with colleagues across the museum, in particular within Collections and Research, Conservation, Learning, Development, Communications and Public Engagement teams.
A particular focus of the role will be to assist the Keeper (Lead Curator) and Deputy Director of Collections and Research in the research, preparation and production of interpretative material related to new displays in the Museum's Founder's galleries, due to open in autumn 2022. The redisplay will reflect the Museum's mission to tell a global history of art and engage with a multiplicity of perspectives/voices.
Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
