Assistant Director, Academic Coordinator—Book Arts Center
Wells College seeks applicants for the full-time (10 month) position of Assistant Director and Academic Coordinator for the Book Arts Center. As Assistant Director and Academic Coordinator, the successful candidate will oversee all pedagogical aspects of our vibrant and historic Book Arts Center, including but not limited to: teaching two classes per semester, participating in curriculum development for the book arts and book studies programs in concert with other departments, overseeing internships and work study students, participating in recruitment and retention initiatives, advising students, and working in partnership with and under the center director. This is a two-year grant funded position with a possible extension contingent on additional outside funding.
Applicants for the position should have a minimum of a master’s degree; excellent skills in binding, letterpress printing, papermaking, and/or printmaking; good interpersonal skills; successful teaching experience in both workshops and semester-long courses; a record of meeting deadlines; and a collaborative spirit.
