Art Gallery Director of Sales
Gemini G.E.L., an art gallery and internationally renowned artists’ workshop and Contemporary fine art publisher located in West Hollywood is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, diversely-skilled Director of Sales. For over 56 years, Gemini has collaborated with the most accomplished artists of our time and the limited-edition artworks produced are in the most prestigious private and public collections worldwide. The gallery exhibits new projects as published and also presents surveys of past editions. Knowledge of Contemporary art and min. 3 years experience in arts sales in a gallery environment required. The candidate must be a good communicator, well organized, diligent and proactive. The job has many exciting aspects, and would be great for a collaborative person who loves a creative environment. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Responsibilities:
*pro-active sales and marketing of Contemporary fine art prints
*developing and maintaining relationships with clients including museums, art advisors and galleries
*managing and oversight of consignments and online sales
*management and oversight of general gallery activities including gallery exhibitions, receptions, drafting press releases, social media strategy and preparation for art fairs
Qualifications and Requirements:
*Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, Design, Architecture, History or related field
*Minimum 3 years experience in art sales
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with collectors and artworld professionals
*A professional record of building and maintaining a robust, active client list
*Precise attention to detail and accuracy, and able to efficiently manage multiple tasks
*Extensive Mac literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office required
*Knowledge of ArtSystems software preferred, and/or other art database programs
Salary: $90,000-100,000 per year with excellent benefits including fully-paid health insurance, vacation and sick days, and a "print allowance"
