Assistant Curator (grant funded, fixed term), Prints & Drawings, MoMA

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Curator to work directly with The Robert Lehman Foundation Chief Curator of Drawings and Prints at The Museum of Modern Art on a major, large-scale monographic loan exhibition. This is a grant-funded, fixed term position expected to conclude the end of October 2023.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Chief Curator, helps develop, coordinate, and manage the exhibition from concept to installation.

Contributes to all aspects of the exhibition’s development and administration, including conceptualization of and planning for exhibition displays, preparing checklists, arranging loans, conducting provenance research, and managing exhibition and publication production timelines.
Performs scholarly research and writing for catalogues, brochures, and exhibition didactics, including text panels, labels, and other explanatory texts as required.
Works closely with other curatorial departments in the Museum, as well as external contacts and artists.
Serves as point person liaising with the departments of Exhibition Planning and Administration, Exhibition Design, Registrar, Education, Graphics, Communications, Development and Publications.
Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.
Requirements:

Master’s degree in art history strongly preferred with a particular expertise/exposure to art in the 20th
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to manage projects and deadlines independently and maintain simultaneous priorities. Proficiency in a digital environment required.
Ability to travel as assigned.
Fully vaccinated with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and/or the World Health Organization authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis).
