The School of Art at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art, Printmaking with a standard teaching, research, and service load. The School is seeking a collaborative, conceptual, energetic, and interdisciplinary artist/educator who is actively engaged in the field with a strong research agenda. The successful candidate will assist in leading the Printmaking area while also contributing to the strength and energy of the School of Art as a whole. Applicants should have a strong research and professional record, and possess knowledge of a wide variety of multidisciplinary art-making strategies centering on or intersecting with print media. A strong foundation in printmaking and dedication to expanding the technical and conceptual direction of the discipline is expected. Applicants should be able to address both contemporary and traditional art practices and possess expertise with concepts and theory related to contemporary printmaking. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability and interest in fostering interdisciplinary cross-campus relationships and engage with a vibrant local and regional art community. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community as well as cultivate a positive and productive studio culture in and out of the classroom.

Duties:
Teach two courses per semester (a total of four courses per year)
Maintain an active and significant research record
Graduate and undergraduate student mentoring and advising, including active participation in B.F.A. and M.F.A reviews as well M.F.A. thesis committees
Ability and interest to teach related content in the Foundations curriculum
Be a consistently present and active member of the studio community
Collaborative oversight and operation of the Printmaking area including but not limited assistance in planning and implementation of new studio facilities, overseeing a safe working environment, curriculum development, departmental reviews, executing a budget, managing supplies and equipment, and supervising graduate assistants
Committee and other service at the School, College, and/or University level
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
