Self-staging, seduction, joy and suffering: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669) studied the human body exactly. With a keen eye he perceived facial expressions and gestures and put them expressively into the picture.

The exhibition gives an overview of the printing works of the Dutch master. It tells of life and transience, of human power and powerlessness.

An extensive selection of exquisite etchings Rembrandt from the significant inventory from the print collections of the Veste Coburg illustrates the wide range of the artist, from his fascinating self-portraits to his biblical and genre scenes.
