Opening Celebration Manton Research Center, Clark Art Institute
The opening of the newly renovated Manton Research Center is less than three weeks away! You can reserve seats now for the following events:
SATURDAY, NOV.12
- Architect's Talk (12:45 pm)
Annabelle Selldorf, the architect for the building's redesign, talks about her practice and her work. A conversation follows the talk with Clark curators Kathleen Morris and Jay A. Clarke, Clark librarian Susan Roeper, and Research and Academic Program Director Emeritus Michael Ann Holly. A book signing follows the talk.
- Open House (1-5 pm)
Curators, Research and Academic Program Fellows, librarians, and graduate students welcome visitors to explore the Manton Research Center, including talks in the new reading room; in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper; and in the Eugene V. Thaw Gallery on the inaugural exhibition, Photography and Discovery.
- Opening Party and Concert featuring Arturo Sandoval (ticket required) at 6:30 pm.
SUNDAY, NOV. 13
- Bennies & Bellinis (ticket required; 10:30 am)
Join us in the Clark Center for a special eggs benedict breakfast.
- Manton Collection Gallery Talk (11:30 am)
Jay A. Clarke, Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs discusses the extraordinary works in the Manton Collection of British Art and the development of new facilities for their display and study.
- Director's Talk (1 pm)
Olivier Meslay, Felda and Dena Hardymon Director, gives his first public talk since assuming his role earlier this year. Meslay, the fifth director of the Clark, discusses the Institute and his plans for its future.
- Family Activities (1-4 pm)
