Research/Current Projects | I am an art historian who specializes in nineteenth-century Europe, with a focus on France, and am a historian of photography. My research and teaching interests include the intersection of art and human rights; gender and sexuality; traveling objects; print culture; and photography. I am working on a manuscript entitled Savage Whiteness: Paul Gauguin and the Birth of Modernism, which investigates the making, sharing, and interpretation of objects and texts between Gauguin and his Symbolist peers. |
