Research/Current Projects My dissertation, The Painter and his Poets: Paul Gauguin and Interartistic Exchange, examines the artist's dealings with his literary circle, offering a news lens through which to reinterpret his oeuvre. By examining works of art traded with Alfred Jarry, Stéphane Mallarmé and Charles Morice, we can begin to see how Gauguin and his peers drew upon one another as a resource for their creative endeavors. I examine numerous works on paper by Gauguin, a master printmaker, paying special attention to his Noa Noa series, which I examine in relation to his collaboration with Charles Morice.
